ROTCHY BLOG – 10 Years, CZW, and a SALE!
It’s been a while, huh? I started a blog on this website with every intention of updating it as much as possible this year, but life kinda got in the way – and I failed miserably. I apologize for that. From here on out, I vow to update more frequently – especially with our big 10 year anniversary event “Candy Apples and Razorblades” going down on Halloween.
I’ve had more than a few people ask me why we haven’t scheduled an event for August – to celebrate closer to Inter Species Wrestling’s ACTUAL “birthdate.” Well, to be completely straight up – the Heirloom Arts Theatre is hotter than a motherfucker in the summer, and we learned our lesson the first (and last) time we tried to run an event there during those months. We also had every intention of running a few Vans Warped Tour dates, but they decided (literally a week before our first scheduled date for Warped 2015) that they wanted to take a year off from wrestling. We completely understand, and hope to be back next year. When ISW was in it’s formative stages, I had a list of things I wanted to do. One of them was to run a show in a barn. Yup. A fucking barn. While our first American event – in Hartford, CT – technically took place in an outdoor pavilion – the bathrooms had troughs (like horses eat out of) to piss in. To me, that was close enough to my barn show goal. Another thing on that list – I wanted to run a show on Halloween. Well, with Halloween falling on a Saturday this year – and the Heirloom having the slot open – we decided to jump on that date to celebrate our 10th birthday. Bring your friends, wear a costume, and celebrate 10 years of Inter Species wrestling just a little over 2 months tardy.
As many of you know, I crossed a few more things off my “pro wrestling bucket list” over the weekend, as I was able to both work for CZW (the promotion that got me into the US indies many moons ago), and call an event in a building that I hold very dear – the former ECW Arena. I had a great time, met a bunch of great people, and reconnected with others I hadn’t seen in forever. Overall, it was a great experience – and while I haven’t watched the ippv yet – I feel like I did a good job on commentary with Dan Cowhey. A huge thank you goes out to DJ Hyde and the WSU/CZW crews. I hope we can do it again.
However, the weekend wasn’t without it’s share of problems. The hotel we stayed in on Friday night had hard beds, a vending machine that ate my money, and a pool that was closed for renovations. And the biggest problem ever – I brought way too much merchandise to Philadelphia. A huge thank you to anyone who bought a shirt – but seriously – I have 43 Inter Species Wrestling shirts – as well as a limited amount of ISW DVD releases, and a fitted hat – occupying space in my living room, and I want them all gone. I have 21 of our “Look Out Below” design, and 22 of our “Ten Years” design. Sizes range from S-3XL. As of right now, we’re having a “let’s get rid of some of this stuff” sale!
The DVD inventory includes copies of:
Grand Theft Ottawa
Burger King of the Ring 2
Trapped in the Closet
Warped 2014 – Montreal
Warped 2014 – Hartford
Boner Jam 3
Any 2 shirts and a DVD – $45 shipped! Wanna pick a larger quantity? Want the lonely fitted hat, only 1 of 2 out there? Let’s make a deal.
Email me at email@example.com if interested!
Until next time – and I promise, it’ll be sooner than later. Fighting Back is coming up on August 15, and I’ll have more than a few words to say about that event, and why it’s the most important date marked on my calendar annually.
